Going Home Changes

In the event of an emergency going home change, please email the school at [email protected] by 12:30 p.m. Your email request must also include a picture ID for the front office to accept your request. Thank you for following this dismissal procedure to ensure the safety of all students.

VPAA Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

  • Thank you for following the procedures outlined below to ensure the safety for all students.


    Times of Operation:


    The drop-off/pick-up areas on both sides of the campus will be open each morning from 7:20-7:50 and each afternoon from 2:05-2:40.

     

    • Students who need supervision prior to 7:20 or after 2:25 can be enrolled in our Growing with Pride program, please contact the office for more information.

    • Please note, per Policy 4.16 (3)(e)(1), no students shall be released within the final thirty minutes (1:40-2:10) of the school day unless the principal/designee determines it is an emergency.

    • Students who are not picked up from school by 2:30 will be sent to our after school program (Growing with Pride) and a fee could be charged.


    PreK-2nd grade students AND families that have both PreK-2nd and 3rd-8th:


    • The parent drop-off/pick-up line for self-contained ESE, PreK-2nd grade students, and families that have students in both self-contained ESE or PreK-2nd AND 3rd-8th must be accessed via Arthur Ave. off of Homestead Road.

    • To ensure student safety, parents are not permitted to walk up and take their child.  Please proceed through the line safely.

    • For safety reasons, any parent whPreK-2nd grade students AND families that have both PreK-2nd and 3rd-8th:


    • The parent drop-off/pick-up line for self-contained ESE, PreK-2nd grade students, and families that have students in both self-contained ESE or PreK-2nd AND 3rd-8th must be accessed via Arthur Ave. off of Homestead Road.

    • To ensure student safety, parents are not permitted to walk up and take their child.  Please proceed through the line safely.

    • For safety reasons, any parent who does not have the parent pick-up tag will be asked to park and sign their child out in the office; a picture ID will be required to sign your child out.

    • Please clearly display the parent pick-up tag so your child’s name may easily be read by the radio caller.

    • Students are NOT permitted to walk into the parking lot to load into cars.

    3rd-8th grade students:


    • The parent drop-off/pick-up line for 3rd-8th must be accessed via the entrance to Veterans Community Park, south of the tennis courts.

    • When exiting, please turn left out of the parking lot towards the tennis courts to avoid congestion with buses leaving at the light.

    • To ensure student safety, parents are not permitted to walk up and take their child.  Please proceed through the line safely.

    • For safety reasons, any parent who does not have the parent pick-up tag will be asked to park and sign their child out in the office; a picture ID will be required to sign your child out.

    • Please clearly display the parent pick-up tag so your child’s name may easily be read by the radio caller.

    • Students are NOT permitted to walk into the parking lot to load into cars.


    Walkers/Recreational Center Students:


    Kindergarten-2nd grade students who have been designated as walkers exit through the bike rack gate.  To ensure safety, students must stay on the sidewalk that runs between the fences.


    3rd-8th grade walkers may exit campus from the bike gate, or the back entrance to the park.  Students who are enrolled at the Recreational Center will continue to enter the Rec. Center through the back of the gym.
