Our staff consists of certified teachers and qualified support staff who provide instruction in ELA, STEM, and SPARK.

Veterans Park Academy for the Arts is one of the proud recipients of The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant awarded to Lee County Schools. The program is a free after school program offered to eligible students and families. Students who have been identified for additional academic support and enrichment will be invited to participate. The 21st Century Program is staffed by certified teachers who use project-based lessons to increase student academic achievement. The program also focuses on the social-emotional health and well-being of the students.

Family members of students served by the program are requested to participate in a series of workshops to learn how to best support students in their academic development. These workshops are offered monthly throughout the school year.

The after-school program will meet daily Monday through Thursday (each day that school is in session). Students selected for the program are expected to attend daily. Designated certified teachers work in tandem to support the project-based lessons in a rotation schedule that includes English Language Arts, Social Emotional Learning, Math, Science, and STEM. Students also participate in research-based Health and Wellness programs and homework assistance. Progress monitoring is a very important part of student success. Student achievement is monitored by pre and post testing, quarterly grades, and rubrics. In addition, the students receive free snack and supper. Transportation is provided for students who meet the districts eligible requirements for busing.
